See All ReviewsEggplant was unidentifiable in the dish. The stew was too salty and looked like it had been cooked several days ago and reheated again and again, with some of the meat burned. The mac was unnecessarily overseasoned. I could only eat the white rice.
I ordered the cassava leaf and rice (x2), salmon rolls, Mac and cheese, and seafood salad (spicy). I am mixed about everything I just consumed. First and foremost the salmon rolls were delicious but that is the star of the show. The cassava leaf was mostly bones.. you couldn’t really get a clean spoon full of it and trying to fight the meat off the bones was challenging. If you did get a clean spoonful be cautious of small bones hidden in the leaf. The mac and cheese was okay and the spicy seafood salad is a little confusing. I am honestly torn on if I like it or not. Overall the staff was friendly but I spent just under $60 and I felt a little disappointed however it was good enough that I would give it another chance on different items.
It is very seldom that I leave a review or comment but IT WOULD BE SELFISH OF ME TO NOT SHARE THIS GOOD OL’ FOOD. The soul food is bomb, I had the Cheese steak rolls, Cabbage, and butter corn) and the African food was just how I like it , a little spice but not to much to were I couldn’t not enjoy it (Potato Greens and Rice). If you are in the 69th street, Darby, south west area and have not tried JC Afrosoul food, then Please get there now !!!! S/o to the owner Christina and her Husband for showing me of the top female djs some love @DjDiorCartel !!! I will be back .
